Chapter 14 explains how to prepare for Obí divination, emphasizing the importance of ritual purity. The kola nut is washed, offered to one's Ori and ancestors, and the divination surface is prepared. The Obí nut is split by hand into four segments, avoiding knives to preserve its power. The divination is performed by casting these segments and interpreting their patterns.
Chapter 15 discusses concluding the divination by offering the Obí nut or a portion of it to one's Ori, ancestors, or at specific locations, depending on the divination results.
Chapter 16 focuses on the prayers used in Obí Abatá divination. These prayers connect the diviner to spiritual forces, seeking protection, clarity, and permission to proceed with the divination. The prayers invoke Olódùmarè, the Obí Orishá, Ori, and ancestors, ensuring a spiritually aligned and protected divination process. After the prayers, the diviner prepares the Obí for casting, asking for guidance from Esu and spiritual clarity.
